How to disable particular wordpress theme (or) plugin update

Are you looking to stop particular plugin new updates? follow my instruction to disable particular WordPress theme or plugin update.

Here are two simple ways to hide the plugin update notification.

Option 1 – Change Plugin Version

The easy solution is to open up the PHP file in the plugin root directory and modify the version number. like  “version:  100.1”

By updating the plugin version here to a higher number, you can disable the update notification and disable particular wordpress theme update.

Option 2 (Recommended) – Disable Update Notification Permanently

The method I recommended is to use the function I’ve written out below to stop the update notification.

Enter this function in the plugins root PHP file, preferably right below the plugin details.

 
add_filter('site_transient_update_plugins', 'sangvish_remove_update_notification');
function sangvish_remove_update_notification($value)
{
unset($value->response[ plugin_basename(__FILE__) ]);
return $value;
}

This function must be unique, which means you can’t use it for multiple plugins. If you want to hide notifications for multiple plugins, change the name of the function each time. And update the function name in the “add_filter” line as well.
